Printed or digital billboard?
A printed billboard carries one large printed artwork on a steel frame. It is the simplest way to keep one message in place for months, and the artwork can be replaced when your campaign changes. A digital billboard uses an LED screen that can show several messages and change them at any time, which suits busy locations and businesses that run frequent promotions.
LED display boards and digital signboards
A digital signboard or LED display board shows images, video and changing promotions on a bright screen. Large outdoor screens work as digital billboards beside main roads; smaller LED display boards suit shopfronts, showrooms and building entrances. For a lit sign with one fixed message, an LED lightbox signboard costs much less.
Where billboards are used
- Along main roads and highways for brand and project advertising
- At property development sites, to show the project and the sales gallery
- On the side of a building or the roof of a shop lot
- At factories and showrooms, facing the road
Planning a billboard
A billboard is a large structure, so the location, the size, the wind load and the foundation all need planning. Billboards almost always need approval from the local council (PBT), and large structures may need an engineer’s drawings. Tell us the site, the board size and whether you need a printed or digital board, and we will discuss the next steps.
What changes the price
- The board size and height
- Printed artwork or LED screen
- The steel structure and foundation
- Lighting for printed boards at night
- Site access and installation equipment
For a sign that marks your own entrance, a pylon or totem sign is often the better choice.
