What is an LED lightbox signboard?

An LED lightbox signboard, also called light box signage or a lit signboard, is a box with a translucent face and LED lights inside. The light shines evenly through the face, so your shop name, logo and phone number stay readable at night as well as in daylight. In Malaysia it is one of the most popular kinds of LED signboard, because it is bright, practical and good value.

Types of LED lightbox

  • Single-sided lightbox: fixed flat on a wall or on the fascia above a shop lot.
  • Double-sided and round lightbox: projects out from the building so people coming from both directions can read it. Often round or cut to the shape of a logo.
  • Acrylic lightbox: an acrylic face with your design printed or applied in vinyl, for a glossy finish. For signs without lighting, see acrylic signage.

Care and maintenance

Wipe the face with a soft damp cloth every few months to keep it bright. If part of the sign goes dark, switch it off and contact us. The cause is often a single LED module or the power supply, which can usually be replaced without changing the whole box.

What is a snap frame lightbox?

It is a slim lightbox with a frame that opens at the front. You slide out the printed poster and put in a new one, which makes it handy for menus and promotions that change often.

How long does an LED lightbox last?

That depends on the quality of the LEDs and power supply, how well the box is sealed against rain, and where it is installed. Tell us if the sign will face sun and rain, and we will build it to suit.
