What is a basic signboard?
A basic signboard is a flat panel with your shop name, logo and details printed on it. It has no lights inside and no raised letters, which keeps it simple and affordable. For many shops, workshops and new businesses it is the first signboard they put up, and it can always be upgraded later.
Types of basic shop signboard
- Aluminium composite panel (ACP) signboard: a rigid, weather-resistant panel with a printed sticker face, the most common shop signboard in Malaysia.
- Metal sheet signboard: a painted or printed metal sheet on a frame, for workshops, factories and site offices.
- Signboard with spotlights: a basic signboard with spotlights mounted above it, so it can be read at night without a lightbox.
- Cut vinyl lettering on a panel: clean single-colour letters for a simple, modern look.
Shop signboard design
A strong shop signboard design keeps the name big, adds one line about what you sell, and leaves out long lists. Contrast matters more than colour: dark letters on a light background, or light letters on a dark background, read best from the road. We prepare the layout on a photo of your shopfront so you can see it in place before it is made.
Who a basic signboard suits
- Kedai makan, kedai runcit and convenience stores
- Workshops, hardware shops and car service centres
- New businesses that want a clear sign at a lower cost
- Shops that will upgrade to a lit sign later
If your shop is busy in the evening, an LED lightbox signboard or a frontlit 3D signboard will be easier to see after dark. Glass doors and windows below the signboard can carry your opening hours with a glass sticker.
